As a photographer, I have the privilege of witnessing love stories in all their beauty, and Heather and Steven’s journey is truly captivating. Their love story began unexpectedly, at a gym in Steven’s hometown. From that moment on, their connection blossomed, leading them to a beautiful day at Battello JC. Here’s a look back at their Battello Jersey City wedding.

Simplifying the Essence of Love

When Heather and Steven approached me to capture their wedding, their vision was clear: simplicity and intimacy. They wanted to be surrounded by their closest loved ones, cherishing every moment together. As a photographer, I knew that capturing the genuine emotions and candid moments would be the heart of their wedding story.

Finding Beauty in Simplicity

For their wedding theme, Heather and Steven entrusted the talented team at Battello JC and their exceptional florist to bring their vision to life. They desired a neutral, simple theme, allowing the natural beauty of their love to shine through. It was a delight to see how effortlessly everything came together for their intimate 50-person celebration.

If Battello is on your list, here’s what I’d suggest: the waterfront terrace looks right across the river at the Manhattan skyline, so it’s the place for your family and bridal party photos. Once it’s dark, step back out for a couple of minutes, because the lit-up skyline behind you makes an unforgettable last portrait. The brick walls and colorful painted murals give you a fun, city feel if you want something less traditional. And for an intimate guest list like Heather and Steven’s, a ceremony inside against the exposed brick with a floral arch and candles feels warm and personal.

Throughout the day, there were countless moments that tugged at the heartstrings. However, watching Heather and Steven read their vows to each other and share their first dance was truly unforgettable. It was evident that every glance, every touch, was filled with genuine love and joy.

As a photographer, I strive to capture moments that will be cherished for a lifetime. When Heather and Steven reflect on their wedding day with their future children, I hope they’ll remember the feeling of calmness, the stress-free environment, and the genuine connection shared with everyone present. It truly was the epitome of a perfect day.
