The English Manor wedding by Vanessa Joy Photography
Lauren and Travis’ English Manor wedding was stunning! Lauren chose a beautiful Sottero and Midgley gown to wear for her big day while her bridesmaids all wore long, black Allure bridesmaid gowns. We got so many great images on the grounds of Monmouth University after their ceremony and even incorporated the grounds of The English Manor, too! I adored how lovey-dovey these two were – so cute! Lauren and Travis also chose to incorporate some sweet details into their wedding -including a craft beer station! No wedding would be complete without the energy for the evening thanks to Jason Jani of SCE Events!
Congratulations Lauren and Travis, it was JOY being a part of your wedding!
What was most important to you when planning your wedding?
We wanted everyone to be able to feel the reflection of us in the details. We included a craft beer station since it is a favorite of Travis’ and our signature drink was our Peach Blackberry Sangria recipe that family and friends have enjoyed over the years. To include our Jersey love of pork roll, a giant grill was set up at the end of the night where pork roll, egg & cheese sandwiches were made and handed to the guests as they left. For favors, we brewed and bottled our own Rose and IPA honey mead (which is a medieval Europe wedding custom). Our menus incorporated a thank you note to our guests and the tears of joy packets handed out at the church were a must since our families are so emotional (especially Lauren’s dad!). Instead of table numbers, we had table names crafted which are elements we wish for in our marriage, such as Passion, Laughter, Devotion and Romance. There were even some hidden details, like the I <3 U that Lauren had stitched in red into the collar of Travis’ custom made suit.
What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme?
We (okay, Lauren) gravitated to a color scheme of black, pops of hot pink & peach and a ton of sparkle – and aimed for the feel to be a mix of glamour and chic. To differentiate Lauren’s three sisters as her Maids of Honor, they each wore a belt in a shade of pink/peach with their black dresses. The table names were done in gold sparkle and everything we had printed – from the ceremony programs to the menus to the hotel gift bag welcome cards – were all on shimmer card stock. One of Lauren’s favorite elements was the chic white sofa (that had beautiful crystal buttons) and coordinating head table which drew the whole room together (thank you Jason from SCE!).
What is your favorite memory from your wedding?
This is a tough one since the entire day was filled with so many amazing moments. Saying our vows to each other and being introduced as husband & wife into a room full of family and friends who were all there for the same reason – to celebrate us – are memories we’ll always cherish. For Lauren, it also was very special to be married in the same church as her parents, so that memory will always be a favorite as well.
How will you describe the feeling you had on your wedding day to your children one day?
We will explain to our children how we were bursting at the seams with an incredible amount of love and excitement! The joy we felt was indescribable.
