The Ashford Estate Wedding by Vanessa Joy Photography
Amanda and Michaels’ Ashford Estate Wedding was chic and timeless. Amanda wore a beautiful cap sleeved Liancarlo wedding gown while her bridesmaids stood by her in Jenny Yoo dresses in a blush shade with varying cut tops. Michael and his groomsmen all looked dapper in their tuxedos, complete with bow ties and suspenders! Amanda and Michael’s first look took place just outside the Ashford near the carriage house and when Michael turned around he was floored by how beautiful Amanda looked (who wouldn’t be?). It was an adorable, intimate moment captured and I’m so happy to share it with you today! View more of this gorgeous wedding below and learn more about Amanda and Michael’s love story, too!
How did you two meet and fall in love?We went to Villanova together, but didn’t fall in love until we were living in NYC over the summer for an internship. A mutual friend convinced us to come out to a bar one night and we spent the whole night talking just to each other. I bet Mike that he wouldn’t take me out on a real date. Not only did he take me out once, he took me out every weekend for the rest of the summer and showed up with a rose for me each time!
What was most important to you when planning your wedding? We just wanted our friends and family to be together celebrating and having a good time.
What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme?
We wanted our wedding to feel elegant and romantic. The barn at the Ashford Estate provided the romance,
while the grand ballroom provided the elegance.
What is your favorite memory from your wedding? Our favorite memory is the moment when the barn doors opened and I walked down the aisle towards Mike. I was so nervous and excited my teeth were chattering! The sunlight in the barn was so picturesque, I couldn’t imagine a better moment.
How will you describe the feeling you had on your wedding day to your children one day?The feeling is just like Christmas Day when you are a kid- so much anticipation and excitement! Our day turned out to be even more wonderful than we could have imagined. We were surrounded by the people we love, the weather was perfect, and we had so much fun!
