One Atlantic Wedding :: Lauren and Nate
one atlantic wedding by NJ wedding photographer, Vanessa Joy
Lauren and Nate’s One Atlantic wedding was romantic and chic! Lauren chose two beautiful Justin Alexander gowns on her big day while her bridesmaids all wore long Jim Hjelm gowns. Our day began at the Bally’s hotel in Atlantic City and lead up to a sweet intimate first look between Lauren and Nate. We got so many great images on the boardwalk and around One Atlantic. See some more for yourself and learn more about our bride and groom below!
How did you meet?
They were at one of their favorite bars down the shore and Lauren noticed Nate’s crystal blue eyes from across the bar. She thought he looked familiar and struck up a conversation. They realized they were from the same small town, but had never met because Lauren was already in college when Nate started high school. While the age difference was more than Lauren was used to, he seemed very mature. This still posed a problem for Lauren and she continued enjoying the company of her friends. Then the assertive “younger man” insisted on dancing with Lauren and he swept her off her feet. They slowed danced while the loud club music played and the rest is history.
Proposal Details:
At sunset, Nate proposed in Sardinia, Italy on the water. Lauren had a feeling it was coming, but didn’t think that he would travel across the world with a ring. Luckily, he pulled it off without any hiccups and gave Lauren the surprise of her life.
Wedding Inspiration:
From the bride: I love a clean look and modern line. The inspiration for the gold/champagne accents came from my unique yellow gold engagement ring and the desire to keep things simple, yet elegant.
Unique Aspects:
We had the absolute pleasure of having our brother in law marry us, which added a very personal and special touch to the ceremony. Afterwards, I (Lauren) changed into a second dress- a party dress. While we want to keep things elegant, we want this to be the most entertaining party our guests have ever experienced. We included our favorite cover band, Go Go Gadjet, who will no doubt bring the energy. From their lights, to drum shows, they are definitely trendsetters and their show is the definition of “epic.”
Laure and Nate’s favorite memory from their wedding:
Nate said watching Lauren walk down the aisle and her dance with her mom, where she surprised her mom with her own rendition of Over the Rainbow, then asked her sisters to join. Lauren said the couple hours prior to the ceremony during the first look. It was so special to spend time and she couldn’t wait to see him that day. It was nice to have those couple hours with our bridal party and family before the party began.
