MEET VANESSA + TEAM
Hello! First off, we’re just glad you’re here.
We could go on about the “history” of Vanessa Joy, the many awards, countless publications and over 23+ years studying photography, but the truth is we just love marriage and being a part of one of the most important times in our couples’ lives. Our time together will be fun and when you look at your photos, you remember how you felt, not how you were posed.
We create a good mix of photojournalism and guided, non-boring posing throughout the wedding day. Our hope is one day your children and grandchildren discover your wedding album and you pass on the story of your love through it.
There are more photographers and staff you’ll meet along the way, and we have associate teams personally trained (and loved!) by me. We couldn’t be more proud of the work we all do together as a team to capture the emotion and moments of the day.

SOME FUN FACTS ABOUT VANESSA:
My first professional photography job was in 1998.
I am a Canon Explorer of Light. An honor bestowed by Canon themselves to only 5 wedding photographers in the country.
In my previous career, I was a Spanish Teacher (and celebrate every September when I don’t have to go back to school).
A minimum of 10% of the proceeds from VJP go to help children and homeless through organizations like Too Young to Wed, World Vision and HCBC.
Making wine with my friends and family is a favorite activity of mine; Napa Red Zinfandel is my favorite wine.
I’ve won multiple, prestigious wedding photography competitions and awards – and even been a judge for some of them.
My husband and I met while working a wedding (and he’s a wedding videographer! www.RobAdamsFilms.com).
I wrote my first book in 2019 all about Photography Lighting and have authored three more photography and business books since.
You can find me continually teaching all around the world in front of massive audiences of 3,000+ people.
I still get butterflies at every wedding.
We are a full service photography studio and believe our job isn’t done until your memories are printed and not dying a digital death. After all, these are the photos that capture the moments that you’ll cherish enough to print!
Our couples invest an average of $11,000 for an associate team and $15,000 for Vanessa to personally photograph your wedding. We’re happy to create custom collections fit to your needs.
