You may remember Courtney and Paul from their snowy engagement session in Stratton, Vermont. We were hoping the rain that we had that weekend would be the end of raining on their wedding parade, but we were wrong! This would be the Hurricane Irene wedding, and I have to say, I don’t think it put a damper on the day at all! Sure my good-bye hug to them was me standing there like a wet puppy after I had packed the car in the rain, but in my opinion, this is what the stories to the grandchildren are made of. 🙂
One thing that really stood out to me on this day was during the ceremony. Courtney and Paul had just finished showing their signs of peace to their parents and giving the mom’s flowers and were walking back up onto the alter. Now this is something that I do see a lot, but for some reason it stuck out to me when Paul helped Courtney up the steps with her dress and holding on to her arm as she walked. It was one of the most beautiful displays of affection I’ve ever seen, and the way that he took care of her as if she were a porcelain doll or a delicate flower was such a great demonstration of how a husband cares for his wife throughout the entire marriage. It really was a beautiful moment. 🙂
